Course fees and cancellation policy

Course fees 
PhD courses and events offered by Erasmus MC Graduate School are free of charge for Erasmus MC PhD candidates1, Research Master students (electives)2and Erasmus MC employees3. A payment of €1.00 is required for administrative purposes. As PhD courses are primarily intended for PhD candidates, PhD candidates will get priority over other registrations in case of oversubscription.  

Course fees for external participants: 

1Erasmus MC PhD candidates have a contract with Erasmus MC or have a hospitality agreement with Erasmus MC, as the first supervisor is a professor from Erasmus MC and the PhD defence will be at Erasmus MC/EUR. 
2With the exception of courses that are specifically intended for PhD candidates4. As Research Master student, please ensure that you have permission of the examination board to follow the selected course as an elective.   
3Erasmus MC employees can participate in courses free of charge, with the exception of courses that are part of an academic program (e.g., Research Master courses) or are specifically intended for PhD candidates4.  
4PhD education only for Erasmus MC PhD candidates: Scientific Integrity, eBROK, Biomedical Writing for PhD candidates, PhD introduction session, Personal Leadership & Communication, Bayesian Statistics, Presenting Skills for PhD candidates, Intervision for PhD candidates, MATCH.  

Please note that there is one fee for the entire course, there is no reduction for partial participation. 

Cancellation and no-show policy 
Erasmus MC Graduate School PhD education is free of charge*. However, free of charge does not mean free of responsibility. Once you have signed up for a course or event, we expect you to attend. For every late cancellation or no-show, we have had to disappoint others who would have liked to join.   

*A payment of €1.00 is required for administrative purposes.

If you registered, but are unable to attend, notify us by sending an e-mail a.s.a.p. to In case of a replacement, include the name and student number (not microsection number) of the replacement taking your spot.  

All invoices will be sent to the head of department or for external participants to the e-mail address provided upon registration. Those who register for a PhD course agree with these financial conditions.
