Detailed information about the courses and curriculum requirements can be found on Canvas.
Types of courses
In each programme, the following categories of courses and programme components are distinguished:
- Core (course code starts with CK-)
These courses are a mandatory part of the curriculum. All students following the same master’s programme should complete them in order to meet the requirements of their programme. The core topics of these courses are assessed in the combined Core Competences exam (CK070). All information about this exam can be found on the Canvaspage.
- Lifelong Learning Skills (course code starts with LLS-)
The curriculum contains a number of basic skills courses. Some are a mandatory part of the curriculum. Others are optional and can be taken as electives. The LLS-courses are assessed in a combined Portfolio (LLS04).
- Electives
These can be chosen from a number of available optional courses to tailor your programme to your interests. Each major has a number of recommended electives (this is available on Canvas). There are various types of electives:- Regular electives (course code starts with EL-)
- Lifelong Learning Skills (course code starts with LLS-)
Some, but not all, LLS-courses are electives. - Erasmus Summer Programme (course code starts with ESP-)
In August, second-year students can take courses from this three-week programme as electives. For more information, please read the ESP website. - External electives
It is possible to take elective courses (such as eBROK) at another educational institution and use the credits for your master's programme, provided that you receive permission from the Board of Examiners.
Research Project
The research project is a major part of your master programme. All up-to-date information about this can be found on this Canvas page.
