Erasmus MC Card

Identification

The Erasmus MC Card is your primary form of identification at Erasmus MC. This card provides access to numerous facilities such as the Education Centre, certain parts of the buildings, and exams. All students and employees are required to visibly wear their Erasmus MC Card.

When studying in the Education Center, you may be asked to present your Erasmus MC Card to the Front Desk officers in order to prove your student status. During exams, you may be asked to identify yourself with your Erasmus MC Card and your passport or personal ID.

New card

At the start of the academic year, all new students receive an invitation to pick up their Erasmus MC Card at the Servicedesk (Fe-209, desk 3 + 4).

Photo requirement

In order to receive your Erasmus MC Card, you are required to upload your personal ID photo. Please upload your photo in OSIRIS Student as soon as your enrollment is complete. You can do this by logging in using your ERNA ID and uploading your photo in 'My Details > Personal Details'. 

Lost or damaged card

If you have damaged or lost your Erasmus MC Card, you can create a new card for a fee of €10,- at the Servicedesk (Fe-209, desk 3 + 4). If your card was stolen from you, you are exempt from the fee if you are able to provide a copy of the police report.

Issues

The Erasmus MC Card only works when registered to the correct programme. If your Erasmus MC Card is not working, please check whether all your information in Studielink is correct, and whether you have completed all the necessary steps.

If you are still experiencing problems with your Erasmus MC Card, please reach out to the Educational Service Centre. If your card is broken or damaged, please contact the Servicedesk.

Temporary card

The security counter (Ee-3) of the faculty building does not provide a temporary Visitor Card to employees or students who have forgotten to bring their Erasmus MC Card to the building. If you need a temporary card, please contact the Servicedesk (Fe-209, desk 3 + 4).

The Servicedesk will provide you with a duplicate of your Erasmus MC Card free of charge. You are required to hand in the duplicate card within two weeks of issuance. If the card is not returned before the deadline, it will be blocked.

Return card

Upon completion of your study programme, you are required to return your Erasmus MC Card. You can do this at the Servicedesk (Fe-209, desk 3 + 4). Keep in mind that a fee will be charged if you do not return your card. For more information, please contact the Servicedesk (010-7044441).

Information for students (temporarily) employed at Erasmus MC

Some students are (temporarily) employed at Erasmus MC, for instance as a teaching or research assistant. Such students receive a new Erasmus MC Card for employees. This card can be picked up at the Servicedesk (Fe-209, desk 3 + 4) against a deposit of €45.

From July 1, 2023 onwards, students are not allowed to possess more than one Erasmus MC Card. Therefore, the procedure is as follows:

• If you currently possess two Erasmus MC Cards (one for students and one for employees), you are required to return your student card to the Servicedesk as soon as possible. Please hand in your Erasmus MC Card for employees as soon as your employment ends. You will receive a new Erasmus MC Card for students in return, as well as the deposit that was paid (€45).
  
  
• If you are a student who will soon be employed at Erasmus MC, you are required to hand in your Erasmus MC Card when you pick up your new Erasmus MC Card for employees at the Servicedesk. Please hand in your Erasmus MC Card for employees as soon as your employment ends. You will receive a new Erasmus MC Card for students in return, as well as the deposit that was paid (€45).
