Rules and Guidelines
When participating in an exam, you are expected to be familiar with the rules. All procedures regarding exam participation, administration, grading, and review are described in the Rules and Guidelines of the Examination Board (click on OER bachelor or master in the right-hand column).
Registration via OSIRIS
Due to logistical considerations (such as room allocations, the number of invigilators, digital or written exams and their preparation), it is mandatory that students register in OSIRIS for all themed exams, integration tests, the scientific writing test in year 1, and the elective education exam. Exam registration opens 60 days before the exam. You can register for an exam in Osiris Student up to one week before the exam date.
Exam Registration by Education & Student Support or Own Responsibility
Are you taking a regular exam for the first time? Then Education & Student Support will register you. This applies to bachelor themed exams. In the master’s program, OSC will register you for the exams of Pharmaceutical Education (GENMAGM-O) and Research Methods (GENMA08MVO) for the regular attempt, provided you participate in the corresponding education. Have you had a previous opportunity to take the exam, or is it a resit? Then you must register yourself for the exam via Osiris Student. For all the rules regarding exams and exam registration see the Rules and Guidelines of the Examination Board. Registration without administrative fees is possible up to one week before the exam.
Withdrawing from Participation
If you will not participate in any of the above-mentioned tests, always unregister via Osiris Student (with the exception of master’s iVTG tests).
Instructions: How to Register for an Exam via Osiris Student
In Osiris Student, go to the tab 'Register' and select 'Test'.
Search for the test by entering the full exam code in the search field under ‘Course Code/Name’. Make sure to also select the correct academic year! Click on the found course, select the test session, and click the arrow at the bottom right. Check what you have selected and click ‘Confirm registration’.
You can see when exam registration is open by clicking the ‘i’ icon after searching for the course, and then checking under Test Registrations. Registration without administrative fees is possible up to one week before the exam.
Registration Confirmation: Automatic Email
After registering, you will receive an automatically generated email from Osiris confirming your registration. If you do not receive this confirmation, your registration was unsuccessful. Please try again.
Late Exam Registration
As described above, you can register for an exam up to one week before it takes place. Are you too late to register? You can still register via OSIRIS as described above. When completing your registration, an administrative fee of €20 will be charged, and you will be redirected to a payment module to complete the payment. Once the payment is made, you will be automatically registered for the exam. Education & Student Support will be notified.
No Registration?
If you are not registered for an exam but still show up at the exam room on the day of the exam, you take the exam at your own risk. It is also possible that there will be no space for you due to capacity issues. Always report to the (head) invigilator before the exam begins; they will assess together with the exam organizers whether you may still participate. You can still register for the exam on the spot, late exam registration is open until the day of the exam (until 23:59 pm). If you don't register for the exam, your result cannot be registered in Osiris.
Information Email
One week prior to the exam, you will receive an information email from Education & Student Support. This email contains all important information about the exam, such as the date, time, and location. If you do not receive this email, your exam registration is not known to Education & Student Support.
Registering for the Resit Period (Summer Period)
During the summer period, the deadlines for final grades may be very close to the resit date. To avoid the risk of having to pay administrative fees because you can only register less than a week before the resit, it is recommended to register for the resit in advance. If you end up not needing to take the resit, you can unregister via Osiris Student. Please make sure to actually unregister if you do not participate in the resit.
Taking Exams on Location
Make sure to arrive on time for your exam. The exam room opens 30 minutes before the start of the exam. If you arrive late, you will not be allowed to participate.
Students with Accommodations
Do you study with special accommodations? Then you are entitled to extra time during your exams. You will start at the same time as the other students, but you may continue working longer (your end time is later). For physical exams, an effort is made to place all students with accommodations in the same room. Want to request accommodations? Visit Requesting Accommodations.
Double-check your accommodation! In Osiris Student, after clicking ‘My Details’ in the top right corner, go to the ‘Accommodations’ tab to see which accommodation is registered for you and until when it is valid. If your accommodation has expired, you are no longer entitled to accommodations during exams and other educational activities. Contact your academic advisor or submit a new request via Osiris Case if you wish to apply again.
ReadSpeaker
Do you have an accommodation that allows you to use ReadSpeaker? Then please note that it only works if you use earphones with a jack plug. You must bring your own earphones.
Exemption
Want to request an exemption for a course? Then you must submit a request to the Examination Board. The conditions can be found in the Education and Examination Regulations (click on OER bachelor or master in the right-hand column).
Grading Periods
For more information about exams and grading periods, see the Education and Examination Regulations (click on OER bachelor or master in the right-hand column).
Publication of Results
You will receive a message via your student email once your preliminary or final exam result is published in Osiris. For bachelor exams, this email will also contain information about the review session and relevant deadlines. Note that your exam grade will only appear on your study progress overview (SVO) once it has been officially recorded in Osiris.
