The Education center (OWC) is the central hub for the faculties and education of Erasmus MC. It provides space for education and self-study for over 6000 students from the programs in Medicine, Clinical Technology, MSc Technical Medicine, Nanobiology, Research Masters, Graduate Schools, Erasmus MC Academy, Skills lab and Simulation, General practice, and Medical Specialist Training Programs.
Self-study
The education plaza offers more than 400 study spots. students can study here and use various computer facilities. The plaza is surrounded by 40 colloquium and lecture halls. the education service center (OSC), responsible for the OWC, prioritizes creating an optimal study environment for students.
Accessibility
The OWC is only accessible to students from the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. wearing the Erasmus MC pass visibly is required when studying in the OWC.
Legitimacy requirement
You are required to visibly wear your Erasmus MC pass. You may be asked to show identification. If you do not have an Erasmus MC pass, you may be asked to show your student card or, in the case of a short course, the confirmation email proving you are allowed to study in the education center.
Breaks
Talking, calling, eating or drinking? Do this in the area around the espresso bar, reading table, and the chesterfields.
Silence
Respect the learning environment of others: adjust the use and volume of your voice, your equipment, and your general behavior accordingly.
Clean & tidy
keep the learning environment clean together and dispose of your waste in the designated bins.
Self-study spots
A spot may not be left unattended for more than 15 minutes. Items left on an empty spot for longer will be removed.
Enforcement
always follow the applicable rules in the education center. staff from the OSC monitor compliance.
Furniture
No feet on the couch and leave the furniture where it belongs.
Pleasant study environment
The education center is a shared space where a good learning environment for all students can only be achieved through mutual respect and adherence to the rules.
Video & photo recordings
Official recordings must be reported to the communication department (press@erasmusmc.nl). During recordings in the OWC, no students or visitors may be visibly recognizable without permission. No activities may take place on the 2nd floor near the study islands. On the 3rd and 4th floors, consideration must be given to studying students. Do not block walking routes and/or stairs. sessions may not last longer than 1 hour to prevent excessive disturbance.

Monday to Friday 08:00 - 22:00: entire OWC open
Saturday 09:00 - 17:00: entire OWC open
sundays and holidays OWC closed and not accessible. Computer room 5 is open on Sundays from 09:00 to 17:00 for self-study, except on holidays (Erasmus MC pass required).
Outside opening hours, security will ask unauthorized visitors to leave.
