Mandatory visible use
In the first week of classes, all first-year medical students receive an Erasmus MC pass. The Erasmus MC pass is used for identification and for access to various parts of the building. All Erasmus MC students and staff must wear the pass visibly, including in the Education Center.
Student profile
As a student, you’ll receive an Erasmus MC pass with a student profile. This pass gives you access to general doors, the access gates on the third floor of the EE building, the bicycle parking, and the Gk building.
Identification
During exams, identification is possible with your EUR student card (in undamaged condition) or, if you do not have your EUR card with you, a valid ID (passport, ID card, or Dutch driver’s license). Access checks may occur, and Security or Education & Student Affairs may ask you to identify yourself.
Upload a passport photo
To create an Erasmus MC pass, it is mandatory to upload a passport photo. Do this as soon as your registration is complete. You can easily upload your photo via OSIRIS Student. Log in with your ERNA account and upload your photo under 'Personalia'. Without a passport photo, your Erasmus MC pass cannot be created, and you will not be able to attend classes.
Creating a new pass
If your pass is lost or damaged, you can have a new one made at the Servicedesk (Fe-209) for a €10 fee. In case of theft, a new pass can be issued free of charge with a copy of the police report.
Pass issues
The Erasmus MC pass only works if you are properly enrolled in the Medicine programme. If your pass doesn’t work or you haven’t received it, first check in Studielink whether your registration is complete and whether you have completed all steps in the enrollment process, including uploading your photo. If everything is correct and your pass still doesn’t work, contact Education & Student Affairs.
Returning the pass
After completing your studies, you must return the Erasmus MC pass. You can hand it in at the Servicedesk, desk 3 + 4, Fe-209 (white desk). Please note that HR will issue a fine if the pass is not returned. For more information, contact the Servicedesk (010-7044441).
Visitor pass for the faculty building
The reception of the faculty building no longer issues visitor passes to staff or students who forgot their Erasmus MC pass. Forgot your EMC pass? You can go to the Servicedesk (Fe-209). A fee will be charged. If it’s your first time forgetting your pass, the cost is €10. The second time, it’s €25. In these cases, the Servicedesk will issue a duplicate pass identical to the original. This duplicate pass must be returned to the Servicedesk within two weeks of issue. For questions, contact the Servicedesk reception or call 010-7044441.
Different types of passes
In addition to the Erasmus MC pass, there are two other types of passes:
