Active degree conferral
Students eligible to graduate from the Bachelor's in Medicine do not need to apply for their diploma themselves. Education & Student Affairs checks at the end of each month which students are eligible to graduate.* For all students whose progress overview in OSIRIS shows that the required 180 EC for the Bachelor’s in Medicine has been obtained (fulfilled = yes), the OSC will, after verification by the Examination Board, initiate the process of active degree conferral. This means that the final exam will be registered in OSIRIS within six weeks of the final result and subsequently reported to DUO.
*At the end of the academic year, this timing may deviate slightly due to progression and compensation processes.
De-enrolment
More information about when you can de-enrol can be found in the item: Enrolment and de-enrolment Bachelor.
Diploma documents
The diploma documents consist of the certificate, a Dutch grade transcript, an English grade transcript, and a diploma supplement. Students are not required to sign the diploma documents; they are signed solely by the Examination Board.
Exam register and diploma register
Once you graduate, your diploma information is automatically forwarded to the Dutch national Diploma Register (more information here). From this register, you can download a digital and certified extract of your diploma details. This can be used for job applications or other situations requiring proof of qualification. This extract is internationally recognised. You can also make use of the EUR’s exam register, which is likewise internationally recognised. Note that you are only included in this register if you have given permission via Studielink. If you initially did not give consent but wish to be included, please email the OSC.
Recognition certificate
Students who volunteered during their studies may apply for a certificate of recognition. More information about the conditions and application process can be found here.
Master admission decision
Upon registering your bachelor's degree in OSIRIS, Education & Student Affairs will also grant a decision of admission to the Master’s in Medicine. This decision is required to complete your enrolment in Studielink for the Master’s programme.
Verifications / certified copies
To request certified copies of grade transcripts and/or diplomas, you must make an appointment at the Education Centre. Fill out a contactform for Education & Student Affairs to do so.
Ceremony or pick-up?
Graduating students will receive an email giving them the option to either collect their diploma or attend the bachelor graduation ceremony. If you choose to pick up your diploma early, it will be ready in approximately two weeks. If you do not register for the ceremony, this means you can collect your diploma at the OSC front desk after the ceremony. The invitation will state when the diploma is available for pick-up.
Ceremony and session allocation
Students can participate in the annual graduation ceremony. The ceremony usually takes place on the fourth Saturday of October each year. In 2026, the ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 24. This is an official academic session overseen by the Medicine Examination Board. There are several sessions. It is not possible to switch sessions with a fellow student. A reception will follow each session. You will receive the schedule and further information at your private email address no later than two weeks before the ceremony.
Registration
Participation is by invitation. No later than seven weeks before the ceremony, all bachelor graduates will receive an invitation asking them to register. Registration is done via Academy Attendance. Instructions are included in the invitation. The invitation will be sent to both your student email and the personal email address listed in Studielink. Students who are temporarily not enrolled will also receive the invitation. If you have not received it seven weeks in advance, please fill out a contactform for Education & Student Affairs.
Pre-master students
Pre-master students who successfully complete their programme will also receive an invitation for the bachelor graduation ceremony. They will receive a certificate of participation during the event.
Number of guests
You may bring a maximum of 4 guests to the bachelor graduation ceremony. No exceptions are possible.
Accessibility
Guests in a wheelchair may access the venue via the lift to the 4th floor and enter through the upper entrance. Seats are also reserved for guests with mobility issues. If you, as a participant, require a specific seating arrangement due to health reasons, please fill out a contactform for Education & Student Affairs.
