Erasmus MC Graduate School offers PhD education and training that focusses on improving theoretical knowledge of a specific topic or on improving certain skills needed as an independent scientist.
Four tracks
All PhD education and training that Erasmus MC Graduate School offers, is divided into four Tracks:
Irrespective of PhD track, Erasmus MC PhD candidates are welcome to follow any PhD training of interest.

Erasmus MC Graduate School education is offered via the EUR course catalogue. Please find more information about how to register here.
There is currently only one mandatory course for all PhD candidates:
Scientific Integrity. We advise to take this course in the 2nd year of the PhD project. If you are also pursuing a Master in Health Sciences (70EC) you are advised to join the Graduate School Scientific Integrity for PhD candidates (PHDCO-001) instead of the Master in Health Sciences Scientific Integrity course (LLS06). If so, you must request an exemption from the Master in Health Sciences Scientific Integrity course (LLS06), through the (Research) Master Examination Board. You can find more information about this on the General Information Page on Canvas. Scientific Integrity for PhD candidates (PHDCO-001) is a required course for PhD candidates. It is not possible to request an exception for this course by following the Master in Health Sciences Scientific Integrity course (LLS06).
When applicable, the following courses are obliged as well:
eBROK
All researchers involved in research covered by the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (WMO) must be BROK® certified before starting the study, by successfully completing the eBROK course and exam.
Practical information about the basic course for clinical investigators (BROK®) is on the website of the Federation of Dutch Medical Universities (NFU).

Erasmus MC Graduate School covers the full costs of a Required License for:
To request a Required License code that will give you access to the eBROK course, please fill out this form to receive your license code (valid for one year) and additional information. Once submitted, we will send you an email within 3 business days.
Please note that the Graduate School only covers the costs when the registration is completed via the form provided above. Cost claims for course registration made independently will not be reimbursed.

External courses with exceptional conditions
ONWAR Trajectory
As an Erasmus Mc PhD candidate, you are allowed to follow the ONWAR trajectory. For all the information, visit their website: Join the ONWAR Program – ONWAR
Erasmus MC PhD candidates, have to gain at least 14.42 EC in order to complete the ONWAR trajectory.
You can find the ONWAR Training- and Supervision Plan on the website, which you have to fill out in order to register yourself.
As soon as you are an ONWAR member, it is possible for you to follow the courses for free.
Please note: The full trajectory is reimbursed by the Graduate School. If you would like to follow just some of the courses without registering for the full trajectory, then it is for your own account.
